5 Natural Ways To Take Care Of Your Hair

There would be a rare few people in this world who would not want to have hair that is stunning, but most of the times, hair loss is because of mistakes on your own part. When you are born you are given hair; how you take care of it is what will decide whether this hair will remain on your head or not. These days, people tend to abuse their hair – they will use all kinds of chemicals, products and try out a range of procedures, in the name of looking good. What they do not realize is that all this will cause harm in the long run and lead to hair that is extremely damaged.

There are, though, some natural methods by which you can make sure that your hair remains healthy and beautiful:

1- Eat Right

What you put into your body will make a lot of difference to how your hair behaves. Give your body proper nourishment and you will not have a lot to worry about; fill your body with junk food and you will start to notice a lot more hair on the floor and towel, as opposed to your head. This is why you need to make sure that you are always eating right, and include plenty of fluids in your diet especially water. Your hair is made up of keratin, which is basically a protein and in order for you to have healthy hair, you need to have a lot more protein in your diet. If you are vegetarian, include lentils and leafy green vegetables, and for non-vegetarians, there is the option of meat. Try and have salads and fruits juices, at least once a day.

2- Change Your Hair Care Routine

Most people, without even realising it, have hair care routines that are actually not healthy for their hair. They use a range of products, use high levels of heat and don’t ensure that they pamper their hair on a regular basis, all of which leads to dry and damaged hair. Studies have proven that dry and damaged hair is more prone to falling, which is why they need a lot more tender loving care. Make sure that you give your hair a warm oil massage at least one time during the week and don’t shampoo your hair more than twice a week. The more you wash your hair, the more of the natural moisture you are taking away from it. Every time you wash, you need to condition, because that is the only way you can nourish and protect it. Keep chemical products and heat based styling tools for the most special occasions and do not make these regular habits.

3- How You Clean Your Hair is Important

Most people think that washing their hair on a regular basis is more than enough to keep it clean, but what most of these people fail to understand is that how you keep your hair clean is far more important. One of the first things that you might be doing wrong is not oiling your hair before washing it. When you use shampoo, you are washing away the natural oils of your hair, and oiling beforehand helps maintain that oil balance. If you use really hot water to wash your hair, you are inviting damage and then eventual hair fall. Once you are done with washing, make sure that your condition and it is best that you dry your hair gently. Allowing your hair to dry naturally, rather than drying them using a hair dryer would be the better choice.

4- Choose the Right Products

Don’t pick a product, simply because you like the way the packaging looks or because your favorite celebrity endorses it. Choose products that are designed for your particular hair type. For centuries, people did not have shampoos and conditioners – they used natural ingredients to tend to their hair, and perhaps it is time for us to do the same. Alternately, you could look for natural options such yogurt, aloe-vera, and egg. These will naturally nourish your hair, without bringing with them the harm that chemical products can bring.

5- Pamper Your Hair

Once in a while, treat your hair to a spa that creates with natural products such as curd, lemon juice, aloe-vera, and eggs. Apply yogurt or aloe-vera gel to your hair and leave it for a while, before washing it off with water to see naturally conditioned hair. Warm a little coconut, olive or jojoba oil and massage it gently into your hair and scalp, before wrapping it all up in a towel that has been dampened with hot water. The juice from a bottle gourd will also help soften your hair. Hair that has been damaged by excessive exposure to sunlight can be treated using half a cup of honey, 2 tablespoons of olive oil and the same amount of egg yolk. Natural hair masks can be created at home and these will offer deep conditioning to your hair, making them healthy from within and beautiful on the outside.
