4 Easy SEO Agency Tips to Increase Organic Traffic

The aim of this article is not to bamboozle you with dozens of tips or dispense lame advice like ‘improve the customer journey’ and ‘produce better content’. We are going to give you four tips that actually work to improve your website’s organic traffic when properly implemented. And so, without further ado, let’s jump on in and look at the most actionable tips that you can do in less than 30 minutes to be on par with SEO agency experts.

  1. Conduct an annual audit

An annual audit is a must; it’s the bare minimum of good website management. It’s a great way to critically analyse all pages and posts on your website, looking to see what areas can be improved, consolidated or deleted. For example, if you have a page of content that receives 0-1 clicks a month, get rid of it. If you’re working on the WordPress platform, the easiest way to conduct your audit is via Ahrefs. This free plugin will scan your site and give suggested – but not mandatory – areas of improvement.

  1. Improve keyword rankings

As you no doubt know, keywords are the king of search (and, by extension, SEO). Get them right, and you’ll have people banging down your door, get them wrong, and your site will be a ghost town. For this tip, we are again going to use Ahrefs. Plug the URL of your top-ranking pages, for your primary target keywords, into Ahrefs’ Content Gap tool. It will then analyse and rank your pages alongside competitors to show who is ranking higher. You may not be ranking because you didn’t sufficiently cover a keyword in the post; this is easily fixed by naturally adding the keyword into the existing content.

  1. Monitor competing backlinks

If you’re not yet ranking top in SERP for your target keyword, it might be because competitors have higher quality backlinks than you. You can see if this is the case by using Ahref’s free SERP checker. One way to improve your backlinks is to find websites linking to lesser quality content on competitor pages and asking them to link to you instead. How can you do that? Well, you can do this by pointing out to the desired website that the page(s) they are currently linked to have inaccurate, outdated, misleading or missing information, which, fortunately, your page does not.

  1. Repurpose blog posts

Different people have different content tastes. Some like long-winded blogs, others like short videos and some even prefer slideshows. Mixing-up and repurposing your valuable content is an easy way to reach a wider audience. For example, if you have a standard blog post that is already ranking well with organic search, this is a prime candidate to be turned into a video. This will work as you can embed the video into the existing blog post to appeal to even more site visitors (i.e., snag that someone who would watch a three-minute video, but would never stop to read a 1,000-word article).

We hope you’ve found these professional SEO agency tips useful and are well on your way to improving your website’s organic reach.
