With Prank-O, Arik Nord by created a business model out of these types of memories and funny occasions, creating “prank” gift boxes as their main product. The sharks absolutely loved it, making for a hilarious pitch and getting plenty of laughs from all the Sharks during their presentation. Their cheap cost to product and solid margins was enough to entice Mark Cuban during the show to get in on the deal, albeit for a bit more equity then what was asked for. Unfortunately, it does appear like this deal was not finalized after the show.
Despite not finalizing the deal with Cuban, Prank-O soldiered on. Since then Prank-O’s Shark Tank Update has been amazing, they pitched to shark tank in 2018 and as of today, about 7 years later in 2025, things are going well. Recent research has shown the company to be generating over $5,000,000 million in revenue annually. They have 19k+ followers on Instagram and a loyal customer base.
My personal takeaway here, and the lesson learned is that you can truly make a business out of anything. And pulling from personal experiences, and creating something that people will truly love and enjoy can reap some serious financial reward. So if you want to become an entrepreneur, you don’t always have to go for the most efficient or logical product, you can be creative and look at your own life, and what positively impacted you.
